Composite Veneers at Smile Hub
At Smile Hub, our smile makeovers start at the initial consultation where our expert dentists will guide you to creating your dream smile.
Before any cosmetic work is undertaken, including veneers, an initial consultation is required. This is to ensure that any necessary restorations, oral hygiene issues or gum disease can be resolved before starting your cosmetic dental work.
Composite Veneers are thin custom-made porcelain or composite facings that are bonded to the teeth to improve their overall appearance. They are durable, long lasting and versatile.
Veneers are often used to treat several flaws or issues with the teeth such as:
- Discoloured teeth – often due to smoking, tea or coffee drinkers, fluoride treatment or trauma to the teeth.
- Altering the shape of the teeth
- Repair chipped and irregular teeth
- Replace old restorations
- Improve the overall alignment and symmetry of the teeth
- Level of gums
- Teeth angulation
- Spaces between teeth
- Reflection of light
- ‘Dark corridors’ at the corners of the smile
- Posture of lips – how much teeth you show when smiling?
- Translucency of your teeth
Porcelain veneer application is a relatively fast and process and can be applied in up to one to two visits. Our expert dentists at Smile Hub will apply thin layers and gradually shape the adhesive to create the perfect look. They will finish by polishing the tooth to ensure your teeth are dazzling! Porcelain veneers are made in a laboratory and are stain resistant and closely resemble natural teeth.
Porcelain veneers and their application is planned over one to two visits with one of our expert dentists at Smile Hub.
At the first appointment, the teeth are prepared in which a local anaesthetic will be used. This process involves a minimal reduction in some critical areas to the enamel at the front of the surface of the tooth which will make space for the veneer.
Impressions are made and temporary veneers are made using a template from the preview model. This will give clients an opportunity to trial the planned smile before the final veneers are made. This also allows for any changes to be made before the final veneers are finished.
