Exam and Preventative Care

Fewer is More

Prevention is preferable to treatment, and we at Smile Hub Dental Clinic are committed to helping you maintain your teeth for life.

The most prevalent dental conditions are entirely avoidable. Frequent dental examinations and hygienist visits are one of the best ways to monitor your oral health and identify any issues before they arise. We propose appointment intervals based on your individual dental habits and risk profile, with an average interval of six months between visits.

You can avoid some of the most common dental problems by adhering to the following rules:

Dental Hygiene

Frequent tooth brushing and flossing are essential for maintaining healthy gums, teeth, and breath. People frequently brush their teeth multiple times each day, however their method may be ineffective. Our hygienists focus on improving and maintaining the health of your gums, in addition to providing a variety of treatments, such as relief from tooth sensitivity, fluoride treatments, and tooth sealants, to help you feel better about the long-term condition of your teeth and gain confidence.

Diet

Carbohydrates and sugars are the primary causes of tooth decay. The most crucial factor is to reduce the amount of times food and beverages come into contact with your teeth. Hence, only meals should be consumed, and between-meal snacks should be avoided.

The erosion of tooth enamel caused by acidic foods and beverages is also a big concern today. Please seek expert assistance if you suspect tooth erosion has harmed your teeth.

Fluoride

Toothpaste containing fluoride is one of the primary reasons why youngsters have less tooth decay today. Fluoride supplements should be administered with extreme caution to young children, and expert guidance should be sought.

Tobacco Use and Oral Health

Individuals who smoke are significantly more likely to experience more severe gum disease. The lack of oxygen in the bloodstream is caused by smoking. This hinders the healing process, increasing the likelihood of infection in the gums and after tooth extractions. Moreover, smoking is a big risk factor for mouth and throat cancer.

You have a loose cap or crown, or it has come out completely:

Please phone, email or try to book an appointment through out online booking system on the Smile Hub Dental Clinic website as soon as possible. Keep the area clean and try not to chew anything hard on this side. Use de-sensitising toothpaste.
