Teeth Whitening
Whitening your teeth is one of the most effective ways to improve your smile. It is simple, effective, safe, and economical, making it one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures today.
There are various methods and procedures for whitening. At-home whitening is the most common and straightforward approach for whitening teeth, with the most consistent results and fewest sensitivity issues. Teeth-specific bleaching trays are fabricated and worn either for one hour during the day or overnight. Treatment duration varies. On average, optimal results can be achieved in two to four weeks. Adjustments are made throughout the duration to ensure that all teeth receive the same degree of whitening.
In-office whitening is an alternative option. As the concentrations of hydrogen peroxide in at-home whitening and in-chair whitening are now identical, the primary advantage of in-chair whitening is its shorter treatment time and single-visit convenience. This is advantageous if you have an upcoming event within a few days following therapy.
Complex instances involving damaged teeth may benefit from teeth whitening in conjunction with restorative dentistry. You can schedule a free consultation with us so that we can evaluate your situation and explain your best options.
Do I need to consult a dentist or hygienist before to whitening?
Before beginning treatment, you will receive a complimentary 15-minute consultation to determine your appropriateness for teeth whitening. This is a somewhat superficial examination, so we would recommend a comprehensive dental examination with x-rays to completely evaluate any underlying concerns.
A visit to the hygienist is recommended, as they may remove any plaque or tartar from your teeth, allowing for a more uniform whitening of the entire tooth surface.
